Cliff Claivin factoid: Sri Lanka was formerly known as Ceylon...hence when you see 'Ceylon Tea', this means it's from Sri Lanka. :)

Today I visited Polonnawaru, the medieval capital of Sri Lanka.  The ruins area is isolated
in one large section of the city, making it easy to visit by bicycle or walking.  Within, you can  see the Royal Palace ruins, a large complex of temples and shrines called Alahana Pirivena, the
Shiva temple complex (where I was blessed by an elderly Hindu woman), and the impressive Gal Ve..hera, a collection of granite Buddhas with one standing 7m in height and the one reclining at  over 14m in length.  It's a very peaceful way to spend the day just walking and biking amongst the ancient ruins.  Another nice day in Sri Lanka!
