We get to Ko samui after our ferry ride where we met Sarah, a Canadian tour guide, and we stay at New Hut bungalows, a nice bungalow situated on the beach at Lannai Bay, but the staff is terribly rude and unhelpful, pulling out the 'I don't understand English very well" when it best suits them. The plan is just to relax today - read, go running on the beach, get some sun, maybe snorkel - and then go out for some fun tonight. *Having been around to many beached now (Okinawa, Cancun, California, Florida, Indonesia, Malaysia, E and E Thailand, I can say without a doubt that Pulau Perhentian Kecil easily has the best beach. It's not so crowded, the sand is amazing, the setting is great, and the water is perfect.* Anyway, I go for a run on the beach, play with some dogs, and end up on the south end of the bay where, apparently, there is a famous pair of rocks called Grandfather and Grandmother Rock.  ! I'll let your imagination decide what Grandmother Rock is like! It's actually interesting and is a famous photo spot...unbelievably there are many families here and they're all like "Little Janey and Bobby, why don't you go stand next to that tall rock for a picture." As if parents aren't embarrassing enough when they break out baby book pictures, now these parents will be "Look, this was Bobby when he was five hugging a rock penis in Thailand! He ;loved that rock penis...so cute!" That night, Jamo and I go out to the big party scene, Chaweng Beach, but I didn't like it so much; very touristy and too much like Phuket, crowded, noisy, and with dirty girls hassling you every second. We hook up with Sarah (Canadian tour guide) and dance and drink alittle, but nothing too risqué.
