We got to Riga and found our lively hostel, Fun Friendly Franks Guesthouse, and got settled in after a lengthy introduction. It's an interesting place but it has massive dorms, up to 16 beds, and I just don't like huge dorm rooms as I think its shows very little concern and care for the travelers...they could easily divide the room into rooms of 8 and everyone would be more comfortable, but whatever! Riga is definitely much more of a party place as it has nightlife galore while its Old Town is pretty sparse and more mixed into the modern city. So the judgment is go to Riga for partying and to Tallinn for sightseeing!

Franks has a nightly "Party Board" which lists the places most happening that night and they are pretty much right on as almost every place we went was pretty happening, the one exception being the Beer Garden where the live music consisted of a pseudo-Elvis impersonation. For the most part we or I just walked around the town during the daytime and went into social mode at night, be it at a club or just in the hostel common room. Riga was fun, but nothing spectacular happened...the women here are NICE, as in beautiful, second only to Russia now, but there's also a huge sex industry here, which makes it hard to get to know a girl without paying for that privilege..either that or you get categorized as a foreigner that came here in interests of sex only, of which there are many.

Side note: Spanish guys are amazingly immature and seem to have no idea of "others" is the general consensus here...later someone explained to me that most Spanish men live at home into their 30's with their mothers cooking for them and cleaning up after them, so on vacation in places like this they just assume that someone will clean up after them - Amazing!!
