The road we're traveling on is about 12 feet wide and had two-way traffic. As we are returning to Tagbilaran, Brian manages to locate the only 9 inch pothole in that road and crash his motorbike into it! I'm cruising down the road and change lanes to avoid the pothole and then 1..2..3...the unmistakable sound of plastic and fiberglass colliding with the unbending road! I curl around quickly and see Brian and his motorbike lying in the middle of the road. He gets up right away but I make him sit down on the road and begin checking his limbs and injuries as the spectator crowd begins to grow larger and larger. Convinced that he doesnt have any major injuries, we clean off his wounds and have him walk around to test everything out. He's really damn lucky b/c |'ve seen people going much slower have worse and permanent injuries, not too mention that a jeepney could've easily run him over on the busy road! He seems good and as it's just a little too early to make fun of him I do begin to wonder how he hits the only hole in the entire road! Anyway, we take off and decide to go to the local hospital to get it properly cleaned and bandaged and after finally locating the hospital and getting him taken care of the bill came to a whopping 42 cents!! haha Can you imagine in the States what an ER visit and some iodine and gauze would've cost?!! So we rode back in the dark, which was also an adventure b/c my headlight wasnt working, and the guys were actually really cool about the bike and we decided to work everything out tomorrow (he eventually paid about $110 to have everything fixed) and he was happy and they were happy so everything worked out for the best!
