First day out and we made it to Mt. Vernon Illinois. Didn't leave Cleveland till around 9:45 this morning We did a little side trip to a National Recreation area called Land between the Lakes in Kentucky. Drove through a Bison and Elk preserve seeing some of both. Also saw a couple of deer. I hope this is a warm up for what is to come Kentucky isn't exactly where I was expecting to see wildlife. We had a nice picnic lunch here.
Stopped at most unusual rest area in Reno Lake Kentucky. Old Antebellum home place complete with carriage house ( J remember the one we found hidden in Cleveland on one of our town walks).
We stopped in Mt. Vernon Illinois at a Drury Inn Hotel. This is a super nice place to stay the rooms are very nice and the service exceptional. After checking in we were given free drinks and snacks "Happy Hour" and boy was I happy. Bill had a glass of Chardonnay and I had a Margarita now that is what I call service. Morning time brings full breakfast menu all this included with the room The best part the room was only 59.00 wow.
Well thats all for now I just had a hot bath in a tub that was gigantic and now I am ready for sleep.
