We camped just outside Nottingham, but the Sat Nav took us through the city to get there. It was some of the busiest traffic we've seen for a while. (oh by the way, the curd tart was pretty average!).
Next morning we got some more inside information and caught the bus into town. Definitely a good move, cause the traffic was still a nightmare. We saw the Nottingham Castle, Robin Hood's statue, and did a tour down into the old Nottingham Prison (there were definitely no Oscars for those actors though!)
An eerie fog had taken over the town by the time we had emerged from the prison cells & tunnels. It was also pretty chilly.
We were a little disappointed with Nottingham - it seemed quite modernised, with very little of the original old charm maintained.
We jumped back on the bus, back to the campsite, into the van & then off. Next stop ... the home of William Shakespeare, Stratford-Upon-Avon.
