Edinburgh, the Scottish capital

We were wrong about hoping it would stay 'not too cold'. It was really chilly this morning, so cold that we didn't want to get out of bed!!!
Eventually we headed into the city, first stop, HMY Britannia (that's Her Majesty's Yacht for those scratching their heads!) It was really awesome. WE were walking around the Queen's yacht! I forgive her for not saying 'hi' this time - since she doen't actually use the yacht anymore!
We were there about 2 hours, before having some lunch in the van (still chilly outside), and heading to walk along the 'Royal Mile' - the main street in Edinburgh.
We only walked about 1/2 of it today, going straight up to Edinburgh Castle. It was pretty interesting. We saw the Scottish Crown Jewels, the War Memorials, some other cool buildings & soome giant cannons. We even saw the room where Mary, Queen of Sctos gave birth to her son, the future king. We ran out of time and actually had to rush a bit at the end.
After the castle we drove back to where the Britannia was, as there was a cinema there, and it was Tight-Arse Tuesday. So we saw the new James Bond movie ... NOT BAD!!! Then we quickly found an internet place to send an email, then back to the campsite.
Please let it warm up a bit soon ... rumour has it that the weekend is going to be another doozy here in Scotland (but we'll be back in England by then).
Next day was another busy one. We used the final day of our Scottish Explorer Pass to see a place called Craigmillar Castle (a rather well-preserved ruin), before visiting Edinburgh Castle again, to make sure we didn't miss anything in the rush yesterday.
But definitely the highlight of the day was the visit to the Palace of Holyrood House and the Abbey. This is the Queen's official residence when here in Scotland. And whilst we didn't get to see HER rooms, we did get to see those of Mary, Queen of Scots, and lots of other really cool things from those times.
We also popped our heads into the St. Giles Church as well, before heading back to the campsite ... yep, already dark again!
The night was spent trying to organise the next sections of our whirlwind tour - Northern England, before heading back to France again. And once again, the logistics have been a nightmare!
