We left Mark & Vanessa's, caught the tube to Kilburn & picked up our #Wicked# van. We drove to Fred & Maisie's to pick up the bike, then down to Chislehurst to Rod & Alison's to pick up the bike case & other stuff we had left there back in July. They were nice enough to offer us a nice warm room for the night (don't know how much of that we'll get in the van!)
Next day drove the rest of the way to Ashford to take the computer back. It was very annoying ... but long story, short, it has to be sent away to be fixed, so we have no computer for this entire leg of the trip!!!!! Did some supply shopping, then headed off towards Brighton (my mum's old home town!)
We arrived about 4.30pm, which would have given us about 30 mins of daylight to sort out the van (bags, bike & bike case were just piled in the back) only to be told that they could not offer us a place at the campsite due to the 'advertising' on our van! Yes, our day just kept getting better. We rang 4 other places without any luck, then drove around for another hour back & forth, before finally placing ourselves in a local park carpark, fairly out of view. Great start, huh!
We spent the day in Brighton, visited the Brighton Pavillion (awesome & extravagent), the Palace Pier & the Brighton Museum. We had a bite to eat by the beach, then headed off towards Portsmouth. We found a campsite that was open about 45min out, but there was no one to take our money. So we stayed the night & sorted it out the next morning. Mmmm, showers!
Next day was pretty yukky as we drove to Portsmouth. We finally found parking, then headed towards the old Docklands to see the HMS Victory - Lord Nelson's famous ship from the Battle of Trafalgar. We had a guided tour through the ship, then had a look through the naval museums. On the way back to the car we looked through some of the shops at Gunwarf Quay. We also had the BEST PASTY EVA (well so far, anyway), it had massive chunks of meatsteak in it!
We stopped in a the tourist information centre and they printed out some campgrounds for us. So that night, we headed to Fordingbridge ... to a place called Sandy Balls!!!

beware aussies bearing gifts
You forgot to mention how you tried to poison my sister in law with your fake alpaka scarf (he he).
Glad to hear all's going as well as can be expected with the weather. Pity about the porno website advertising on the side of your van, Kylie and Ian's XXX European Vacation.
We did the ride and all survived, Steve Walkerden did the 53km on his new Malvern Star and averaged in the low 30's.
The weather is turning good now, except for the sea brease in the arvo.
Keep safe
