We had a great time staying with these guys - so much so, that we are returning later on to celebrate Christmas with them (you know, the all-Aussies-band-together-away-from-home thing!)
We stayed with Mark & Vanessa in Clapham for about a week, before heading off. Poor Mark, some idiot kids set fire to an 'allegedly' stolen scooter (which was parked next to his bike!)with some fireworks ... needless to say, you've seen the results by now!
Other things we saw in this time were ...
* The Imperial War Museum - awesome museum that we spent 6 hours perusing (that's even longer than the Louvre!)
* The Clink Prison - very old & some original torture stuff
* The Doctor Who Exhibit - Some good stuff, but could have had more of the 'old' doctor stuff
* Tate Modern - hmmm, some pretty interesting (read as: scary!) stuff in here
* Dali Universe - hmmmmmm, some even more 'interesting' stuff in here!
* Cambden Markets - heaps of food & fun, and a fun bus ride in the rain
* Borough Markets - excellent fresh food, etc ... had some really nice warmed cider!
* Walking tour around London city - Mark & Ness took us for a great walk & talk around the 'working' areas of London
* Gordon's Wine Bar - great underground bar in cellars ... Ian & I could only just stand up straight (& that was before the wine!)
* Thai Orchid - obviously Thai for dinner ... yummmmmm!
Yep, we managed all that in a week ... and we're still not done! Due to head off now, so we'll be back at Mark & Vanessa's early in December.
