* We took an early bus to the border - yet another crazy system of getting stamped here, walk down the road over the border, get stamped again, then get back on the bus to continue the trip!  I was in a spot of Peruvian bother for a moment ... they couldnīt find my Peru stamp in my passport to say that I'd entered the country legally!  But we found it after several attempts at looking through the pages.

* Took the bus to Copacabana (not the Barry Manilow one!), had some lunch, then jumped on the bus to La Paz.  Along the way we reached a ferry crossing (Lake Titicaca again), so we got off & went over by boat while our bus got onto a flat barge and limped its way over on its own.

* Arrived in La Paz about 5pm.  The views were amazing A giant stadium in La Paz
A giant stadium in La Paz
.  It's the highest (altitude) city in the world, but it's set in a massive basin so that you drive down into it - hence the views!  It's surrounded by mountains as well.

* We did a walking tour the next morning - saw the Witches Market (where you can buy something for everythig that ails ya!  Even Llama foetus, if that's what you require!)  Ian fell sick again, so we took him back home & then went out on a big bus tour of the city and beyond.  The tour was hilarious - we were on an open top double decker bus & you could plug your earphones into any language you liked.  The English translations of what was being said were a hoot!  For example, "the altitude here is quite high and can have an effect on your health, so we try to keep activities to a minimum, like working!"

* We went out for our last night as a group with Sebastian.  Ian came, but went home with an early group - still not too well.  I stayed on with Jayde & Nathan.  We went to a club with everyone else, but it wasn't really our thing.  By the time we went to leave Sea Bass was paraletic, so we took him with us.  Only problem was ... he didn't want to go!  So the bouncer picked him up & put him in the boot of the taxi (station wagon - we're not that horrible!)  Thank God we actually had a lift at this hotel, coz we were all on the 5th floor & Nathan had to carry him!  It took us an hour to get him to go to (and stay in!) bed!

This part of the trip is now officially over.  We lose Sebastian & six others - Jayde, Nathan, Jess, Molly, Gabe & Megan.  They've all been great.  Tommorrow night we meet our six new passengers, as well as our new guide, Eva.
