I am very lucky that I can stay my first days India with Arnold and his wife Swarna. They live in a nice house in South East Delhi and I had my own room and shower. And….the maids washed my clothes, what a luxury J With some information I explored the city and its sights for a few days. Also had time to relax, taste little bits of the great Indian cuisine, went to the cinema, made passport photos etc.
Arnold helped me with the rest of my journey through India since he works for a sort of travel agency called Shanti
- Delhi is a BIG city so make use of the metro system. Buy a normal train card for 100 rupees (incl. 50 credit). You can charge it at any station and this is the cheapest and quickest way through town. Find out where the sights are so you can get out at that specific station.
- If you need any help with booking tickets or travel advice, contact Shanti travel (www.shantitravel.com)
- If you want to take a bus to Jaipur without booking it is perfectly possible. Go to Dhaula Kuan bus station (or another one) early in the morning (6.30) and hop on a bus. I paid 211 Rupees.
