- I recommend taking a motorbike to a Mursi village. Costs are hiring the bike, 300 Birr for fuel, 120 Birr for entrance park and some money to give to the people for making pictures.
- I used Abraham as a guide throughout the Omo Valley area and he was very helpful and took me to the right places where I can take some nice shots. I would definitely recommend him, you can reach him by email firstname.lastname@example.org
or by phone +251 913460415 / +251 926750468. Send him my regards if you do so J
Today is the day that I will fulfill my wish to see the famous people with the plates through their lip, the Mursi tribe. Because there was some fighting and shooting going on in this specific area there were no buses. We found a more costly but better solution! Abraham arranged a motorbike and there we went, 90 km (2,5 hours one way) through a beautiful green and hilly landscape. Because I never rode a motorbike before (with gears) I could try and eventually I rode most of the route, cool to do especially through this hilly area. Then they were there, the world-famous Mursi people of the Omo Valley in Ethiopia. For every picture you take you have to pay (10-30 eurocent per person) and although normally Im no fan of this on this day you have to make an exception. I can tell you more but the pictures speak for themselves.
