On the way to Nakuru we talked a lot about how I was and ofcourse about my friends and our country The Netherlands. Who is married, who is becoming a father etc.. Stopped for some spectacular Rift Valley views before entering the Lake Nakuru park. We stayed in the Wildlife Club of Kenya Youth Hostel which had good beds and a somewhat warm shower. But the reason we are here is because of all the wild animals wandering around and during our 4 hour game drive we saw a lot of White Rhino's from a close distance and even 2 Black Rhino’s as well. The famous Flamingo’s of Lake Nakruru were not there but the park offered enough variety to keep us satisfied. In the evening our house was surrounded by more than 50 buffaloes which is ofcourse not your standard domestic animal.

Time for dinner! To save costs I decided to make our own food and although that there was no electricity and we had to cut our carrot, onions, paprika and tomatoes with a head torch the Spaghetti 'a la Jorg’ was not bad at all!

Next day the morning game drive with more animals and a visit to the viewpoint with an amazing panorama of the entire lake joined by Baboons and Rock Hyraxes in the back. A good complete safari in a beautiful park.

Practicall stuff

-          If you want to go cheap to Lake Nakuru you can even arrange some transport from Nakuru town. Sleeping in the park is not really adventurous so sleeping in town is also ok.
