In the morning went by Piki-Piki to Utende for 2 dives with Big Blu. Payed $20 at the Marine park and met with Mario (Italian owner) and Ally (Scottish girl who's working there). So 2 dives with the three of us. The first dive was @ The Coral Garden to a depth of 15 meter where we saw a Porci Pine puffer (fat fish from Finding Nemo), Sweetflips, Long fin banner, Trigger fish, Tangs, and Squirrel fish (I am quoting from my diving book). A very nice dive with lots of coral and beautiful fish.

The second dive was at Pinnacle (see photo) and was between 2 reefs and to a depth of 21 meter. This was really exciting because the big fish were here: 3 giant Barracuda's (1,5 meter long!!), a lot of Groupers (potato & marbled), 3 Sting Ray's which was really something, Sweetlips and Jack Fish. Really cool to go diving again!

chole foxes lodge mafia island on

Welcome to Chole Foxes Lodge. Situated on the beautiful island of Chole, this is the only place in the Mafia Island Marine Park where you can enjoy a relaxing holiday at a reasonable price.

All our rooms are self contained, with twin beds, bucket showers and toilet. Situated on an unmodified beach, nestled amongst the mangroves, this is a fabulous place to relax and watch the sun set over neighbouring Mafia Island. The natural break in the mangroves provides direct access to a secluded beach, from which it is possible to enjoy a cooling dip at high tide.

During the evenings, why not enjoy a moonlight barbeque of freshly caught fish under the stars.
