After a 7 hour busride with chickens on board, several stops, and people standing all the time I arrived in the economical capital of Tanzania at 18.15 hrs. What a day! Taking a walk from Ubungo (central bus station) to a Dalla-Dalla to go to Mwenge and after to the Abla hotel. There I could stay with Emma, a French girl who lived in Moshi and I got in contact with via Franzi. A fancy/ luxury hotel room after 3 days of basics in Lushoto and I realized that I haven't seen myself so a shave wasn't a bad idea. Emma was very busy with her work for the Open University in Dar so I went for dinner alone and took a deserved beer at a local place near the hotel.Next day went by Dalla-Dalla to the city center (Posta, 300 Tsh = 0,14 EUR) to check out the city. I called Maricky (guy I know via Couchsurf) and went again by Dalla-Dalla to his place south of the
center in Mutoni kwa Azizi Ali. Went to check out his house, drank a coffee, and went to Tanzanians largest market, Kariakoo market. Had a good time and went back by Dalla-Dalla during rush hour which was a new experience for me. 1,5 hours (3 km) standing with about 40 sweaty
people, not something I would recommend. In advance I was thinking that Dar, the biggest city would have some Mzungu's but I haven't seen one during the whole day. Also people talking English is very scarce so my increasing Kiswahili skills help me along more and more.
