Arrived in the middle of the night at 3.30 am. I knew my way on the Nairobi airport so went quickly to the customs and got my bag. A man with a cardboard 'Jorg van Gaal' was waiting for me, showed me where I have to get the bus to Moshi the next day and dropped me at the Terminal Hotel. I went to sleep at 5 am until 10.30 am and after that go some breakfast and walked around. At 2 pm I met with Sakina, a Kenyan girl (32, 2 kids) which I know via couchsurf where I asked if we could meet and check out the city so that is exactly what we did. I felt back home and liked to be the only Mzungu in a city filled with lovely Kenyans. Around 18 hrs she left home and I relaxed a bit, wrote my IS blog and went to an internet cafe.
In the evening I walked around the streets surrounding the hotel and looked for a bar to get a drink. I found one and asked a guy if I could join him on his table. Benson and I had a good conversation and his friend also joined us but I was planning to go to bed early until they asked me to come along and go to the Florida 2000 ('Madhouse' for insiders). The last time I was in Nairobi, people warned us not to go there because it was stacked with prostitutes but due to curiosity I went along. There were indeed lots of women but we just drank a beer and left around 1 am since the others also had to get up early.
The next day getting my stuff, bought some water from the last Kenyan Shillings I had and up to Moshi. The bus ride was sometimes bumpy but quite alright. Up to a new country and a new challenge!
