A not-so-quick stop at the duty-free Pearl Emporium (didn't intend to buy anything but who can resist such a bargain?) then a 2 hour journey south-west to the beautiful small water town of Wuzhen.
Boarded a small wooden boat to float peacefully along the river past the wooden riverfront houses to our lunch stop - a quaint local restaurant where we enjoyed the best meal of the trip! Walked back over picturesque bridges & along the narrow streets, stopping at small craft workshops along the way. Definitely a highlight of our visit to China.
Traffic, traffic & more traffic on our way back into the city, stopping for dinner at a Thai themed restaurant which served very mediocre Chinese food - culturally confused!
