Before we begin our journey back into the city today, I feel like reflecting back on Shelby's accomplishments so far, like any proud Pappy does, I guess. Because I don't think I've said enough about that topic during these postings.

Shelby worked very hard throughout her school life but in particular at the Governors School for the Arts and Humanities in Greenville where she practically lived for two years. All of that work paid off when she was accepted into the college of her dreams, Cambridge, with full tuition.

While there, she not only continued to excel academically (achieving a First for three consecutive years, the highest grade level), but also: captaining the girls football team at Trinity, organizing and leading group trips, taking language courses in three different countries, doing charity work in the Congo, traveling extensively around Europe on Cambridge-sponsored trips, organizing and cooking the annual ASNAC Society dinner, and somehow managing to still spend time with her family during the summer and Christmas. And I'm sure I've left out much more, but as you can tell, we are very proud of her and look forward to her future.

OK, many hours later, got in late, so will post more tomorrow...
