Tuesday morning, we headed over to Shelby's room to start packing her stuff (clothes, books, papers, food) which started with sorting everything into keep and not-keep piles.
About mid-afternoon we needed a break and so hiked across some meadows to the legendary Orchard tea garden in Grantchester
Then, back to work in Shelby's room where we finally finished everything!
We ate dinner at one of Shelby's favorites, a Japanese restaurant named Wagamama. Excellent!
Around 9pm, Shelby invited many of her friends over to meet us, and we had a grand time finishing off the remnants of her bar while playing drinking games. We made mimosas which none of her friends had heard of before but they all enjoyed tremendously.
Today we took care of some more business items for Shelby, had lunch at one of her favorite coffee shops, Massaro's, then went punting.
Punting refers to the act of pushing a punt (small flat canoe-like boat) through the river with a very long pole. We, along with two of Shelby's friends: Garion and Robin, spent about an hour and a half cruising up and down the River Cam alongside some of Cambridge's colleges
Tonight Shelby is going to her graduation dinner with her fellow students and so we are on our own. She recommended we head to a pub that is one of the few "free houses" left in Cambridge. A free house is a pub that is not tied to any one brewery and so can offer a more varied list of ales. The one she said to try was the Kingston Arms. We did and she was right...excellent!
