We woke up early this morning and headed for a little French bakery we saw yesterday to get some breakfast before catching the train. The porridge (oatmeal) was the best we've had since Ireland two years ago. Maggie's had cinnamon and apples and mine had fresh berries. They threw in some complimentary maple syrup andthe bowls were empty before you knew it. And of course we grabbed some pastries to go.

Next stop was the one place all golfers have on their bucket list and since we play golf and are in Scotland, St. Andrews is a must-see. And we weren't disappointed. What a treat to see the first and 18th holes and watch golfers playing them. We bought some souvenirs and went to the British Golf Museum where we now know just about everything you need to know about the history of the sport.

Lunch (cheddar burger, fries and ale) was excellent at Ziggy's. Then we were on our way to Inverness through the Highlands.

Wonderful entries, Mike! You really make everything come alive. Oh how I wish I could be with you! Pictures are excellent and tastefully selected. Suddenly, Columbia seems very bland, with only the Euro games to spice things up a bit. Germans hammer Greece; Spain/France today. Keep the blogs coming. I'm forwarding them to the Bird. She wants to know how to blog. I think she has ambitions in that direction. Best, Finn

Wow! St. Andrews. You may be the only folks I know who have actually been there. Sounds like the trip is going well and even the mishaps are beneficial (you got some rest). Keep having fun.

There are some of us who do not play golf who would love to play St Andrews.
I picked 8lbs of blue berries today if it wasn't so late I could cook up some steel
cut oats and put some of that golden amber maple. keep them cards comming.
