But once at Glendalough
(pronounced Glendalock), we once again enjoyed another Irish history lesson, this one about St. Kevin and his abbey.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glendalough
Then, on to Dublin for two nights...
Glendalough was our next stop today. We were just talking about how the roads in eastern Ireland seemed to be better than the west when all of a sudden the road to this little village became narrow and steep. To our Irish friends Finn and Raphe: This country isn't about the "wee folk", it's about the "wee roads"! Yeehaw! Basically only Mini Coopers fit these skinny lanes and not only are there no shoulders on the roads, where there should be shoulders there are rock walls and tall embankments and hedges. Like you are driving through a giant maze with curves.
