The first stop on our trip was to an ancient burial mound that also functions as a solar tunnel that shoots the sun's rays through a small opening into a chamber inside on December 21st of each year, the winter solstice. Unfortunately, they wouldn't let us take pictures inside. Here's the web site:http://www.newgrange.com/
Very cool place.
As soon as we landed we rented a car for our journey. A compact Peugot with the steering wheel on the wrong side! I've never had driving on the left side of the road on my bucket list but I'll have to admit I've always been curious about it. Let me say that that curiosity has now been satisfied. It has been quite unnerving trying to shift with my left hand, navigate traffic circles (roundabouts here), and try not to scream as cars come flying at me in the wrong lane!
