We're more than halfway home, stopping for the night at the KOA Kampground at Natural Bridge, Virginia. But the adventure isn't over yet! Getting into our campsite was a bundle of excitement all its own. In the wooded Virginia night, we crept along past dozens of sleeping campers. Dad missed the turn that would take us safely into our spot, and then he missed yet another. An owl hooted in the distance. Suddenly, he decided to jump out of his hesitation and make a bold move--taking a path that wasn't really a path to take. We ended up stuck between an electrical post and a tree, losing a couple chips of paint to the tree, and waking up the whole campground in the process. My mother's shouts of "Slow, Mike, SLOW!" and "Wait, listen, STOP!" echoed over rekindled campfires and the KOA manager's cigarette smoke to reverberate thoughout the hills. Fortunately, we finally made our way to a better spot and had fresh corn and veggie burgers to settle the nerves.

I'm providing a link to the natural bridge, which was the attraction our campground offered. Of course, we didn't actually see the place ourselves--we were on a tight schedule. But we thought you might find it interesting.
