We explored the Thousand Island area of New York driving from Clayton to Cape Vincent before getting back on the interstate. This was primarily beautiful farm land with lots of grapes planted. it was a very nice fishing area on the bays and on Lake Erie. There were many smaller houses and mobile homes and lots of fishing camps. Apparently there are BIG fish in this area. We stayed on the interstate around Syracuse, Rochester and finally got to Niagara in late afternoon. Since we had not seen Niagara in forty + years it was very impressive. The roar was tremendous. We took pictures and walked around the grounds which are considerably improved from our prior visit. The entire US Park Service has done a wonderful job updating and improving our national parks and historic sites. The tourist stuff at Niagara is there but not as close to the falls as you would think. We drove on to a nice state park on the lake just south of Buffalo.
