It's scary the number of things that have to happen when you travel for a month. Not only do I need to prepare for 4 weeks on the road in Mongolia and China but I pretty much have to put my life on hold for that period. Putting life on hold isn't as simple as hitting pause on your DVD player control. (Though I've always wanted to be able to pause time like Hiro on Heroes!)
To say that the last week has been hectic is an understatement. I've been trying to get my gear in order, get my affairs in order (both meanings) and attempt to have a social life. I have been moderately successful.
My brother and I were talking (he's coming on the trip too if that wasn't clear before) and this I think is a good snippit of that converation to end on:
