Day 3........exploring the Pennsylvania Dutch Country
We started out at the Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse, PA We saw beautiful quilts and pottery. We bought some prezel mix and Amish herbal tea that tastes wonderful. Then we drove to Bird in Hand, PA to the Farmer's Market. We bought some Amish Friendship soup mix and chocolate peanut butter cookie mix here. Hope it's good. After lunch at a diner, we headed to downtown Lancaster to the Christiane David Art Gallery at Gallery Row.She is known for her Red Umbrella Series. On the way back to the RV we decided to follow a tour bus to Strasburg and came upon the cutest motel called the Red Caboose Motel, where you actually spend your nights in a railcar.
At Eldreth Pottery in Strasburg, I found a lovely pineapple motif canister for my new house. We also stopped in to browse the Amish Furniture in Strasburg. For a light dinner we went to the Revere Tavern down the road from the RV Park. The property was built in 1740 and was bought by our 15th president in 1854 for his reverend brother to use as a parsonage. Read more at reveretavern.com More thumbnails ...
