So we have decided to stay another day in Antigua. We met up with friends that we had made in Flores, and have decided to stay on one more day to chill with them before heading for the Lake. We changed hostles....Jungle Party was not much of a Party. They constantly played either CNN (depressing and enough already about Anna Nicole Smith) or awful Top 40 music really loud or all day long. So we are now staying at The Black Cat hostle in Antigua with Michelle (from San Diego) and Jason (pronounced Yazon, from Munich). Yesterday we had a really relaxing day! And we now have clean laundry which is always a treat. We had lunch at a really cute little cafe yesterday and were seriously satisfied was nice to have a really great meal. Later in the day we ¨church hopped¨¨. Antigua is full of great old churches....some have been restored and some have been left to ruin. They are really beautiful and interesting to walk through. We met up with Jason for dinner (Thai food...awesome and so great to have something other than cheese and beans and rice!) and then later with Michelle for Pina Coladas and Guatemalan beer. It was really a great day. We just strolled the streets of Antigua and hung out in the park people watching. GREAT GREAT DAY!

The photos of our volcano trip are check out how crazy they are!! Miss you all and can´t wait to hear from you!! Love

So here we are another day in Antigua!!! We decided to stay another night after deciding to have too much fun to get up early and leave the next morning!! Thank the LORD we have left crappy Jungle Party. Jason has said that he is painting is Lonely Planet black, for the black book, because everything they feature seems to go downhill. Of course, Jungle Party was in the LP...!Seriously people, we are in Guatemala!!! GUATEMALA!!!!, and all they seemed to care about was American news and crappy Beyonce and and Fergie, both of whom I have added to my bus AL. Also Kate has Star Jones and Tori Spelling on hers, it took her awhile but she's finally got passengers! Anyhow I feel much better now that we have moved to the better and cheaper Black Cat. It costs the same per night but their food is better and cheaper.

We had a fabulous day yesterday as Kate said. Checked out some churches which is something I love to do. I find it fascinating that they built such incredible buildings back in the 1500s with nothing but their bare hands. They were all destroyed repeatedly by several earthquakes over the years but still have an amazing and peaceful feel to them. I went into the crypt in the first church, Cathedral Santiago, which was very disappointing, pitch black and my flashlight was running out of batteries so it really didn't help. The second one was Iglesia de San Francisco, one where there is a tomb of Hermano Pedro de San Hose Betancourt. He was a monk and opened a hospital for the poor, and is now burried there so it is a very popular place to pray for health, which is exactly what I did. The churches just make me so emotional at times and very grateful so it was a great day for the soul. The spirit just felt very close. I've definately recharged my inner battery.

We found a great little cookie bakery so indulged in that. Enjoyed people watching in the Parque Central, which is where we spotted the very interesting fountain. Had dinner with Jason while we waited for Michelle to get back from Volcan Pacaya. She seems to have a very special talent for having buses break down on her, 3 out of 4 in Guatemala!! We are never taking a bus with her! Went for drinks later and now are planning on leaving tomorrow for San Pedro with Jason. Weehoo weehoo! Also it's ladies night tonight. Highballs for $0.60!

Alright! That's all for now!

Love Kirsten

Hello Hello
What fun to get your entries. I haven't looked for a while as my computer hard drive crashed 2 times in 8 days - unbelievable. Kendall had her vball tourny on Sat and they won the dreaded Salem - Yeah Kendall! Taylor went to Winter Formal and looked enchanting. I spent the day getting her to the hair salon, toe salon, flower shop etc... while bouncing around the vball. STeve did most he vball with Kendall. They got chicken figners from WAtsons for the team and that is always a highlight. I chose all businesses in Old Town Orange so it was all very nice and close and fun to be connected to the town we live in on the occasion of Taylor's special dance. The Gibbons arrived with Chris at 4 and the babysitter arrived to take care of Jackson, Kaitlyn and KEndall forus. So we all went to the house where the kids were gathering to take pictures and then the Gibbons and STeve and I went to eat at Alcapulco's .. WE had so much fun and STeve was hilarious. Both girls just got their report cards. Taylor missed a 4.0 by one point due to a distastous turn of evenet in Spanish finals which she ahd a great grad in prior to. The teacher wen tout on maternity and the sub did not inform the kids about how to study - so we'll have tohave a meeting with the school about that. Anyhow 3.9 is still awesome. KEndall has straight As ...yeah! They both worked really hard. KEndall is trying out for Esther today. She has a fiedl trip to KNotts Berry Farm tomorrow for History as they have a ghost town there and such. We have another vball tourn for Kendall on Sat and then Taylor has a swim meet in Palm Springs on Sunday along with Play practice. Should be a fun 3 day weekend. Ysterday was Valentine's Day. Kendall brought POC and Jackson brought CARs valentines. Taylor didn't give themout this year. I think it takes on a new deal in HS. WE had a celebration in the evening when the kids got home from swimming with stremers gifts and treats. The grandparents both sent sEe's candie and Penny gave me a book on See' history - LOVE IT! We gave Taylor HOllister purfume and a seagul necklace. KEndall got a A and F t and a Tink Fairy doll and Jackson got a CARS jacket, t and jeans. So it iwas so fun. I gave a presnetation this a.m. about hte POC 40th asst which was fun to do as I was presented as a spy whou infiltrated the pirates to learn about what kind of booty they have...back to work for me! Hvae fun in the sun both of you. WE LOVE LOVE LOVE You!

Thank God very very much for Friday!
Doug officially done work today. I have 4-5 hours tomorrow before our flight - so I am slowly allowing myself to get excited. Praying our brief trip will allow us to re-charge - physically, mentally and spiritually as you two gorgeous girls are doing. We desperately need this break - which of course makes me question even more the pace at which we live life. We have been enjoying your regular updates, I mean how mag-fabulous was the volcano, thank you for the effort you are making to post pics and words. I just know you are seeing these countries on the verge of major 'advancements'. Can only hope they don't lose their own culture/identity/vibe and become westernized like so many other hot spots. We will check for new postings during our weekend in Portland, than who knows once we get to Hawaii on Monday. By the way Anna Nicole is back on Doug's bus, at least until all the stupid media coverage is over - I frankly don't know if you are allowed dead people, but I guess if they bug you - why not! We continue giving God our thanks for your continued safety and joy. Kate, give my dearest Tinkerbelle a HUGE hug for me. Love to you both, AL
