When I woke up, we were in Vietri-sul-Mare in the hotel's parking lane. Lloyd's Baia Hotel is quite nice. Colorfully tiled floors, a nice bathroom and a balcony facing the waterfront are making life much better. I wish I could write out there now, but it is 12:00 and pitch-black outside except for the lights in Salerno. When we got to our room, I wanted to see the pool and beach, so Grandma and I set off to find it. It involved 2 trips to the front desk, 3 elevator rides, 4 people to give us directions (this hotel is SO confusing - it's a good thing I know algebra to deal with the negative numbers and 2 "zero floors"). Not to mention, there was an Italian wedding reception going on which threw everything into mass chaos in the entire hotel area. Unfortunately, both the pool and beach were closed (there's a gate to them) and it was also quite chilly, so we returned to the room. We got ready for dinner, but then things got sticky. We were supposed to have a 7:30 drink and an 8:00 dinner. But when Italians get married, it's frustratingly chaotic - like a hurricane in February in Georgia.
So then dinner was an hour late because the Italians wouldn't leave. But when you're in southern Italy, you have to relax and enjoy time as it is given to you - never rush. Dinner was okay but I'm not starving, and I really enjoyed the dessert - wedding cake (wonder where that came from?). Okay, now I'm finally going to sleep. Yay.
