Chaotic Busy Bangkok

After what seemed to be ended days in the sun enjoying the beach and pool on Ko Samui I am now in busy, smoggy Bangkok. For a city with 10 million people this is quite an amazingly peaceful place but the traffic is quite amazing making the shortest trips a cut lunch affair. Helen and I stayed in a very swanky hotel "Siam @Siam Design" for her last night of her Thai holiday and we enjoyed a BBq of seafood. Aussie lamb, kebabs and salad for dinner by their very tropical pool. It was a lovely night. The next day I moved to Veingtai Hotel which is way more my kind of Hotel, comfortable, clean and very unpretentious.
I havent really done much here apart from get my bearings around the hotel where I am staying and soaking up the atmosphere. Today I wondered into a Buddist temple and watched a ceremony which to my ignorant eyes seemed to be offerrings to the monks. It ended with a blessing using water over the worshippers. I found it very interesting and hoped I was behaving appropriately.
The 8 day tour "A taste of Thailand" starts on Monday.
