This morning was all about finding a laundromat for some well overdue washing! Lucky i had bought some clothes along my travels; and that i have internet to search for such places. Not too much of a hassle and gave me some time to explore the back-streets of Madrid while i waited. Finding Madrid is definitely not as busy as Paris or London, but still lots of road-works and refurb work everywhere. Plus, the underground train network is the newest, cleanest looking so far. The stations are also really well sign-posted unlike the ones in Paris which were near impossible to find sometimes.

The Lonely Planet guide that i photocopied before i left Bodd advised v strongly to visit the Museo del Prado, which is Spain's national art gallery (as opposed to my immediate thoughts that it was a museum dedicated to the Toyota Prado ). I was hesitant to go to yet another art gallery, but went and paid entry to go in (checked in my bag of washing at the cloak room - yes i pretty much lugged it around all day like a feral back-packer). Some really good paintings, but nothing on the Louvre. I only spent about 1.5 hrs here...there's just so many paintings of the crucifixion/Jesus/Mary that one can handle. It was a warm sunny day (first time i've been in shorts and t-shirt) and i wanted to be outside. A few market stalls out front of the gallery, so looked thru those.

Headed down to Plaza Mayor (main city square) for an early dinner and browse some more shops etc. Had thought of going to a bar tonight, but the a storm had come in and it was pouring, so just chilled back at the hotel. The walls are really thin here...argh.
