30th July
Left Perth this morning. The weather has been crap all day and hasn't stopped raining.
We stopped in Busselton to look at the historic jetty - apparently the longest wooden structure in the southern hemisphere. Not really that interesting and I think if we had've walked down it, there was every possibility that we would've been blown off, so we simply looked at it from the beach.
Then stopped in Margaret river. They have some of the best surf in Oz here, but still, it was raining and miserable, so I bought some washing powder and we moved on!
We finally got to Augusta, right down at the bottome of the west coastline. It was here that we were hoping to do some whalewatching. The small town was ghostlike. Not a soul in sight, especially as it was a miserable sunday. We found a campsite and put it up in the rain. Then went for Fish and chips in one of the greasy cafe's in town.
