Granada, Nicaragua

We stayed at Secret Beach for 2 more weeks. There wasn't any treasure on the beach after Alma, but there was a spring. It was an underground river that came up on the beach, the spring was like quicksand and the sand looked like it was boiling because of the water coming up. If you put your foot in it you would sink to the bottom where there was rocks.
when I was snorkling I saw a big jellyfish, hundreds of different types of fish and a big blue pufferfish about the size of my thigh.
On the last day of boogie boarding, the waves were huge! It was the best day ever!
I was sad when we left the apartment, because it was so nice and the time just flew. Everyday was nice, the showers kept everything clean and dust free. My favourite thing about the rainy season is that it is cooler and you don't have to wear sunscreen.

After our stay at Secret Beach, our host Manuel and Jesus took us to Santa Cruz to catch the bus to Liberia. From Liberia, after a short wait we took a Ticabus to Nandaime, Nicaragua and then another to Granada and now we are at Casa San Francisco in the Annex. I love it in Granada and we are staying two weeks and then afterwords we are going back to Canada. Where I will see my Grandpa, Abuela, Nana and all my friends and toys back home. I'll be happy to get back but I'll be sad to leave Central America, Granada and especially my favourite bird Charlie.

This pool is bigger than the other pool it is big enough for me to do dives and flips. First I learned to dive and then recentrly I learned to flip. My cannonballs have reached the roofline they are huuuuuuuuuge!!!!!! My uncle Bruce would be proud, my dad says he could do great cannonballs when he was a kid. I bet he still does great cannonballs. The pools is bigger and too deep for me to touch so it helps me learn to swim better.

We went for a trip to the isletas. Small islands made by the eruption of Mombacho. Mombacho is a nearby volcano that has a bumpy top (see pictures to see more). Two years ago I did a canopy tour up there. It's like you are a monkey flying through the tree's. My dad was more scared than me, he thought you had to hang on and didn't trust the harnesses, but I just hanged there when I got tired and trusted the harnesses a lot. The isletas are very nice and every isleta is bought up. One family owns Victoria Beer, Tona Beer and bottled water companies. That was the Pelas family. I forget the name of the island. There was one island with a lot of monkeys. We brought 3 bananas for the monkeys. When I dropped banana skin in the lake thousands of fish nibbled at them, it was spectacular I had no idea that fish ate banana, maybe not banana but banana skins at least. I think that the isletas are pretty neat and we took lots of pictures. See the pictures at the bottom of the page for more.

On Father's day we went to a baseball game, the teams were Granada and Managua. At the beginning in the fourth inning Managua had one run and Granada had zero. In the sixth inning Granada put in a new pitcher. The first pitch he threw got hit for a homerun. The next pitch was a ball and the next pitch got hit out of the park again. For the next two days I was saying put a curse on that guy. The final score was zero to four for Managua. A few times there were some scuffles in the cheap seats. There was guy who had no shirt, a bottle of rum and he didn't even watch the game, he was looking for trouble, just trouble. Luckily the police were there. He was just looking for trouble. Granada's mascot when they would go up to bat would do a little dance to the music in the stands. This Sunday there is going to be another game. Let's hope they don't put that pitcher in again. We are going to go see it.
Flying to Granada is very easy you can fly from a lot of places. This site is very good here is the link Cheap Airline tickets to Nicaragua
