Hi, we went to a cigar factory where they made cigars. It stunk like cigars in there. There was one room where they had all their leaves waiting to be processed and made into cigars and the smell was really strong I did not stay in that room very long. It made my eyes water it was so bad. I wish I could type in the smell just so you guys could enjoy the experience. In the next room all the women seemed to work in that room. they were sorting the tobacco leaves and taking the stems off. Everyone wanted their picture taken with me, I don't know why.

you described the stink perfectly - made my stomach turn just to remember the one I visited in Granada.

You should totally check out Café Luz in Estelí. They give great cigar factory tours! For $5 they take you to a local, family-owned factory right in town where you get the complete tour from the moment the sheets of tobacco hit the factory to the moment the cigars go to the stores. It's so cool! Plus, you can talk to anyone working there and they'll answer all of your questions too. I had fun when I went.
