Was up and out of the Hostel at 9.00am, walked 2 miles into town of New Orleans for a little site seeing I walk around the French Quarter and up to Armstrong Park (named after Lou Armstrong). Then Down to the French Market and was starting to see some of the damage from Hurricane Katrina. Look and walk around the rest of New Orleans for the rest of the day. On the way back to the Hostel I visited the Super Dome home of the New Orleans Saints (NFL Team) which was just reopening the new look super dome after the Katrina hit the city a year ago. Got back to the Hostel and got ready for a night out in New Orleans, had dinner and headed out at 10.00pm, the taxi took me right into the heart of the French Quarter on Bourbon St. went into a couple of bars to stuck up the Jazz and Blues atmosphere and it was buzzing, chatted to a couple of bartenders also had a couple of more drinks. This place is was crazy, people on the road drink and moving from bar to bar and the police always there watching. But as I was talking to a bartender, she told me that before Katrina New Orleans was the crazy place to party in the world, and because everyone left when Katrina hit most didn't return, so for what I saw tonight it was very quiet. But I had a blast as I walked back to the Hostel at 2.00am.
