We decided not to waste our 24 hour bike rentals and went back out on the scooters this morning. I was following Robert and Cindy along this very bumpy dirt/gravel road and lost them at a fork in the road. One of the forks went up a big hill so I went about halfway up it to see if I could see them down the other, lower fork. Which is when my bike started rolling backwards and I dropped it. I got some help getting it back down to the bottom of the hill so I could try again. This time I got to the top and there were my friends. We decided the road was too bad even for bikes at that point and turned around.

Robert went diving with our instructor in the afternoon and finished his open water certification. Cindy and I pretty much just hung out during the day, drinking and eating on the beach then going back to the air-conditioned bungalow to cool down and read our travel books and figure out where to go next Choppers fabulous french toast

. I also decided I should start taking pictures of this place. I've been here so long I think I've got it memorized but I should come back with at least one or two photos of Koh Tao. We indulged in some chocolate while we were at it.

I bought a new pair of flip-flops because the last pair I bought here a couple days ago slit open one of my toes, tried to slit open another, and put blisters on both of my heels. I threw them away and went without shoes for a couple of days, which is what a lot of people around here seem to do. You have to take off your shoes before you go in stores or restaurants, or anywhere really anyway, so there's no point in wearing them, except for the gravel here and there. But I decided to give shoes another try and put out another $5 for a new, much more comfortable pair.

Once school was out for the boys we all went for dinner at the kabob place. We finally timed it right and the grill was on! The kabobs were as delicious as we remembered and so were the drinks. Our instructor told us he wasn't ready for us to leave yet (especially Robert, he made a point of saying) and that we had to stay to do our advanced. I think he likes Robert a little *too* much. No, I'm kidding, it's totally metro. We figured well why not, what's another two days when I can't even remember where I was before Koh Tao?

So after lots of eating and minimal drinking, we called it an early night since we had morning and afternoon dives to do towards our advanced certification. SH and I looked went to a travel agent to look at possible visa run trips but didn't find anything solid. Once again I went back to my room with the intention of reading my book, but getting distracted with things like checking email and never actually getting any studying done.
