This morning we had breakfast on the patio of our beautiful bed and breakfast, overlooking the beach. Then we got moving and went to the pier to board a catamaran to the Whitsunday Islands!
First we went in the yellow submarine which gave us a look at some of the underwater life going on around us. The boat was pretty busy but we managed to get a good view out the submarine windows. Then we were let out of the submarine and taken over to the beach on Black Island. Here Ally and I snorkeled while Mandy worked on her tan some more.
The snorkeling wasn't as good as the Great Barrier Reef but there were still some fish down there to look at. After we tired of snorkeling we decided to walk around the tiny island. Ally and I both slid a lot over the very slippery rocks and I thought for sure I was going to break my camera lens but managed to avoid it, thankfully.
When we got back to the main beach where our tour group was we realized everyone was waiting for us. At least they didn't leave us behind! We all boarded the boat again and went to Whitehaven Beach. This is a stunning beach with the whitest sand I've ever seen, hence the name. The sun really reflects off the sand and it is very bright there! We frolicked on the beautiful white sand before being returned to Airlie Beach.
We couldn't afford to stay at our gorgeous B&B another night, plus we had places to go and things to see! So we hit the road again but didn't make it too far before tiring out and settling in Mackay for the night.
