Today we had such an amazing day on the Great Barrier Reef. We took a boat out to the reef where Ally and I snorkeled. Mandy just stayed on the boat and sunbathed since her neck makes it difficult to swim. It was so nice to get in the water and swim around. The sea life on the reef is quite abundant, as you would imagine. The coolest thing we saw was a Napoleon wrasse that swam right up to us. It actually scared the crap out of me because he was at least as long as me and a lot wider! But the boat staff were familiar with him and even had a name for him.

I managed to swim right into some coral and scrape my knees up pretty good so they brought out the first aid kit for me at lunchtime and put iodine all over me. I went back into the water once it and I had dried a bit. The deck was very relaxing as well, but I can't sit in the sun for very long with nothing to do so I went back to snorkeling.

We had a great day out in the ocean on the reef. It was a memorable experience that I hope to do again! Originally I wanted to go diving but Ally doesn't think she could handle that so we settled for snorkeling. But I would like to come back here one day when I have my diving certificate!

Once the boat brought us back to town, we got in our car and drove to Townsville for the night.
