Tash and Adam both had to work today so we were on our own to explore during the day. Ally and I decided to check out the Old Melbourne Gaol where they have the Kelly Gang armour on display. It was pretty cool to see the old jail. We noticed that you could actually put on replica Kelly Gang armour so of course Ally and I got geared up for a photo session. We had a lot of laughs over that.
We met up with Mandy and Tasha when Tasha was done working and went up to her office, which is on the top floor of a very tall building in South Bank, so we had some amazing views of the city from up there. Afterward we walked over to the Crown Casino. Unfortunately you can't take photos in there but it is a stunning hotel! The atrium has a crystal ceiling with lighting effects.
Ally was wearing these fun jeans she had bought while we were shopping in Melbourne that have been strategically torn along the thighs
We left the casino and Tasha gave Ally her long coat to wear that covered all the tears. We then walked in through another entrance without incident. Ally and I were excited to play a little blackjack. Unfortunately the lowest minimum we could find was $20. I prefer $5 minimums but I thought I should give it a go since I would probably never have a change to play in the Crown Casino again. We each got two chips and lost them in two hands. We decided it wasn't our night for gambling and walked around a bit more, admiring the elegance of the hotel and casino. Then we went outside where there is a fire show on an interval. Along the riverside promenade there are these big rectangular columns and fire bursts out of the top to music. It was really cool to see and very difficult to photograph!
We decided it was time for dinner and ate in a really nice restaurant on South Bank overlooking the water. It was our last night with Tasha so we made the most of it! Tomorrow we are heading out for the Great Ocean Road.

. When we tried to walk into the casino we were turned away because she wasn't allowed to have holes in her jeans. We tried to explain that they were fashionably made holes but the security guard would have none of that.We left the casino and Tasha gave Ally her long coat to wear that covered all the tears.
