After that we drove around Stanley Park to find the totem poles that we had tried to see beforehand but dad took us in circles. The wrong circles. Anyway we did finally get to them, and to Prospect Point to check out the fogged out view of Vancouver. Then we headed back home.
Ally, Erik and River came over for dinner so I fought with mom to hold my new nephew for most of the evening.
Yesterday we spent most of the day shopping so today we took a break from shopping and headed to Stanley Park. The weather was quite bad, so it was a good day to spend indoors rather than at a park. We drove around the park and admired it from the shelter of the car, and only got out to take advantage of some good photo ops. Then we went to the aquarium, which is fortunately mostly indoors. We stood in the rain and watched the dolphin show though, which was great. In my memory you always get wet at the dolphin show so what's a little water? Rain or shine, the show was totally worth checking out. We also went to the Beluga show, but watched from the underground room where it was warm and dry. The belugas aren't exactly acrobatic like dolphins but it was interesting for awhile. Then we got bored and continued our wanderings through the rest of the aquarium.
