Yesterday I didn't find anywhere to sleep in the airport so instead I went through customs and got myself a transit visa for $20US so I could leave the airport. On the other side of customs there were tour operator booths so I picked one at random and got totally screwed exchanging Kenya shillings for US dollars. But it was supposed to be $145US and I paid something like that. Then he forgot to give me my change and I didn't notice until I was well on my way with the driver.
Luckily there was really bad gridlock due to construction so I had a nap in the car on the way to the national park. When we finally got there the driver took me into the animal orphanage. It was really cool. Most of the animals in there are quite young and fun to watch. Those that aren't young have been there since they were. There was a brother and sister pair of warthogs and the male totally reminds me of Pumba from Lion King
After the orphanage we went over to the nature walk section where the animals are kept in a less zoo-like environment. I saw rhinos and leopards and lions and buffalo so the only big 5 not around was an elephant. There was also an albino zebra and antelope, warthogs, hippos and other wild cats and animals. Tons to see. The guide that joined us early on at the orphanage was really good and knew everything about the animals. I thought he worked for the park but he didn't so I paid him at the end of my park visit.
The driver then took me to the giraffe centre where there is a raised platform so you can feed the giraffes. I gave one a hug as I fed her and the handler took photos for me. Then he somehow convinced me to hold the food pellet between my lips so the giraffe would kiss me. It was really disgusting but I must have enjoyed it because I did it several times
There wasn't much else to do there so I had some lunch and looked in the shop before heading back to the airport. I still had several hours to kill so I found some chairs to lay out on and took a nap before dinner and then perused all the shops. Finally it was time to head to London. Much to my surprise I slept almost the entire flight. Once I got to Auntie Anne's I just did laundry and repacked my bag for Egypt, and charged up all my dying electronics. Also, my new iPod was waiting for me so I spent some time getting that ready for traveling. Thanks so much for taking care of that for me Ally! You are the best sister ever. But you know that.

Baby Simba wants to play
. Especially when he scratched his ass against the ground and rubbed his chin on his feed trough. You could see the joy all over his face. But the highlight of the orphanage was when I went to see the recently orphaned 3 month old cheetah cubs. The keeper let me hold one and she cuddled up against me and purred in my arms. She even licked me while I held her. I think I should have taken her home with me.After the orphanage we went over to the nature walk section where the animals are kept in a less zoo-like environment.
