Today is my last full day at the lodge. I could really use a few more weeks here. I had a good night hanging out with the guests and chatting up Ansah last night. I'm going to miss his strange conversations. I went on the night hike with Emmanuel and nobody else came. We didn't see anything. After the beach walk we went into the bar and played Shithead, a card game Katherine taught me. Ansah joined us once he was done his shift. The mosquitoes were quite bad in the bar so we moved out onto the beach after a few games and had a good talk. I ended up falling asleep under the stars. It was so awesome except the mosquitoes that kept waking me up. I woke up just before 5am and Emmanuel was still there so we got up and did the first light walk. There were four nests from last night! Busy night for the turtles. I was still hoping for hatchlings but didn't see any sign of them.
I waited up for breakfast to start and had my last muesli, still feeling energetic. I had a nap later in the morning since I had nothing better to do.
Emmanuel is maybe the nicest person ever. A few days ago he was wearing this shirt that turned out to be his secondary school uniform. I told him I liked the shirt but what I really meant was I liked the way the sleeves were short so I could admire his hot arms. He wore that shirt every day I've seen him since. Anyway, last night he told me he had an extra one and I could have it and he would even sew it so the sleeves would be like the way he had made his. And as we were walking along the beach I took off my flip flops because they are tearing where the fabric between the toes attaches to the shoe.
Moses is awesome too. He got to the lodge long before our meeting just as Ansah finished his shift. Earlier I had asked Ansah (also super awesome) if he could help us build a bonfire for tonight. We actually didn't have to lift a finger because when Moses got there Ansah set him to work right away and he did an awesome job of stacking the wood to burn. Then Ansah helped him top it off, bringing a wheelbarrow of bamboo to the fire pit. How can I leave these amazing people?
Katherine and I killed a few hours before dinner. Knowing dinner usually arrives at least 45 minutes late on Fridays, we were shocked to have it rushed to us at 6pm on the dot. The girls in the kitchen made it even more special by providing us with cloth napkins. Napkins! I haven't seen one since I got here. Then to top it all off they served our last chocolate bananas almost immediately after clearing our dinner plates. Usually it is another hour of waiting before dessert arrives. And of course everything tasted perfect (that was normal though).
We managed to wait until almost 8pm before asking Kobe to light our bonfire. The boys did a great job and it was huge. Kobe joined us on the beach for a bit before I left on my last turtle walk - again no turtles or hatchlings. I was pretty tired afterward so I said my goodbyes to Emmanuel, the only friend I had still there, and headed to bed.

Lizard at my door
So he said he would take home the flop and sew it back together. So this afternoon when we had a goodbye meeting with him and Moses he brought my perfectly repaired flip flop and my new top. He was wearing a new shirt today so that was nice. He told me he wants to make me one like the shirt he was wearing that day and how he wants to meet my family and make a shirt for my mom too. What an angel. I told Ally this story over the phone and she wants a shirt too! So I guess he is going to be pretty busy if he does come to visit me.Moses is awesome too.
