Today we had a long day of driving in which we drove between 2 huge salt pans - the Nxai Pans and the Makgadikgadi Pans. We spotted Giraffe today for the 1st time on our trip!! (they are so beautiful!! We wanna take one home!!) Also on our drive we saw the only male Boaubab tree in the world (that Collen knew of) - You'll see why in the pictures!!!

When we arrived in Kasane we set up camp on the banks of the Chobe river. This is where 4 countries meet - Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Here we went on an early morning game drive which was the best yet! We had just started (and the sun hadn't come up yet) and we heard growls and yelps from down the valley. We stopped and our guide told us it was Hyenas scavenging! We were all looking down the valley towards the sound when from behind us a huge hyiena came running down the hill towards us and literally missed us by 30 cm!!!! It was amazing!!

We then drove through a huge heard of buffolo, saw heaps of impala, a few giraffes, elephants, Kudu and hipo (out of water this time!!)

That afternoon we all went on a sunset boat cruise where we watched all the animals coming down to the water to drink. We literally got metres away from a huge heard of elephants drinking and bathing in the mud!! It was so amazing! We also saw hippos, crocs, kudu, impala and plenty of Baboons!!
