Hello friend, I hope you are well... :-)
Ok, I will start this entry with a little story of how I come to be in the El Calafate area hiring a car with four girls to go and see the Moreno Glacier and then the Fitzroy Peak near El Chalten..... Many months back when I was in Hauras, Peru, I did a four day trek in the mountains. On the trek I met, amongst others, Martin and Emilie who were traveling together. Emilie was going to be traveling longer than Martin in South America and I vaguely remember her saying where she was going, they did the trek in one day less than me as they had arranged to go elsewhere. So that was the last I saw of them.
During my bus trip from Puerto Natales to Ushuaia my bus suddenly swerved to the other side of the road and stopped in front of another bus
In Ushuaia on Emilie's last night we were in an Irish pub The Dublin with a load of people from the hostel and she was saying how she was a bit upset to leave as she had hoped to meet up with some friends who were going to Ushuaia too but weren't arriving until the next day after she had left. When we returned the hostel later on in the early hours, low and behold, there were her friends just arriving and checking in to the hostel.. I briefly said hello and went off to bed..
At the end of my muddy walk through the national park I ended up at a big cafe restaurant place and met up with the girls who had just finished the same walk just ahead of me and were waiting for the bus back to Ushuaia. Valerie, Naz and Celine were on a three week holiday together, a week earlier on their way to Puerto Madrin on the east coast, they had made a new friend Stefanie who had been traveling on her own. As this was now my last night in Ushuaia I said how about a few drinks later on at the good old faithful Dublin pub which of course we did, as mentioned in my previous entry. As they were all heading in the same direction as me we said we should meet up again in El Calafate as they would arrive there the day after me.. So we did and this is where we are now hiring a VW Gol for the aforementioned itinerary..

Going to the Glacier
. The driver called for the people going to Ushuaia to change to the other bus. I knew I had to change buses but I thought it would be in Punta Arenas in the conventional way at a bus station not all of a sudden at the side of the road.. So on to the new bus we climbed and moving back trying to find a free seat although I had already reserved one (no. 25) who should I see at the back of the bus? Well no surprise by now I guess, but yes it was Emilie who was also heading to Ushuaia. After 3 months and our totally different routes, we end up on the same bus going to the end of the world..! In Ushuaia on Emilie's last night we were in an Irish pub The Dublin with a load of people from the hostel and she was saying how she was a bit upset to leave as she had hoped to meet up with some friends who were going to Ushuaia too but weren't arriving until the next day after she had left.
