Hello, here is ( pls note I cant use the apostrophe on this keyboard) the next exciting installment from me, from here. I have finally managed to find a computer that seems, at the moment, to perform relatively quickly, mainly in terms of down loading my photos. I have made a slight alteration in the way in which I present the photos to the computer and this one has allowed me to install a different down load tool from this site too. So fingers crossed I wont get stressed with it and feel obliged to throw it across the room as I have wanted to do with so many computers on so many occasions!! Aahhh calm JH calm.
Righty so this is Huaraz, capitol of the department of Ancash and gateway to the Cordillera Blanca which has over 50 peaks of 5700 meters or over and home to Peru's highest peak Huascaran which stands at 6768 meters.
My first day here they obviously knew I was coming as there was a lovely little parade through the streets to the Plaza de Armas with some colorful costumes and a marching band which to me seemed to play the same tune over and over again in varing degrees of togetherness and tune
I had a random encounter on my first day here also, in that, whist I was wondering about the place this guy stopped me and asked if I spoke English, well I give it a go I said, its certainly better than my Spanish.. So after a chat it turned out he was a teacher at the university here and was interested in learning some English from me in exchange for him teaching me some Spanish, for nouwt too.. Cool.. So we met up a few times and chatted and hopefully it was mutually beneficial, I do feel a bit more confident now in what I'm saying. We went to the hot springs at Monterrey just north of Huaraz and then met up with some friends of his and we all went to watch a football match here in Huaraz - see the next entry for my full match report and photos... Oh yeah, talk sport ---

. Some speeches took place at the Plaza, but you know me I declined the invite to say a few worms as I'm not one for pubic squeaking.
