As I tucked Mecca in tonight she said  "This was the fifth worst day ever!"  Why I asked.  She actually had a list.  "Well first when I went to the pool today daddy wouldn't get in the water with me because it was too cold.  Then when we were at the beach for the event, I was cold and it drizzled a little on me.  And I was really cold on the bus ride home."  "Hmmm, I'm sorry you had such a bad day" I said to her sad, pouty face. "I'm sure tomorrow will be better."  "Yeah" she said with a slight moan.

I kissed her goodnight and left the room. Then I thought how blessed she is and I am that the above constitutes a bad day for her. She isn't starving or neglected or sickly or abused or living in danger like many children in the world. We have created a loving safe environment for her. So you know, I think me and Thomas are doing a pretty good job if this is the fifth worst day for.her (regardless of what she may think.)   What was the worst day ever for her you may wonder? Well I'm sure it involved me not doing something she felt I should do! ;)

Thanks for this. It really puts things into perspective. My Mother-in-Law has a habit of pointing out all of the things I could be doing better...and she's flying in this Friday.
What a great reminder from you and Mecca to focus on all the abundance in my life instead of worrying that she's going to comment on everything. I mean, really...there are a lot worse things in life. I can handle the MIL for a week!
Much Aloha. You made me smile and my stress melt away.

Hi guys! Your sentiment is beautiful. I can image how precious it will be for Mecca to read it in the years ahead. Take care and Aloha!
