Yesterday, sunday, was a rugby day! I played winger with the first 15 team, which was awesome. They have a ton of really good players. Sadly, we lost by 1 try, and I could have played better...but hopefully we will do better on Wednesday.
I am really excited about this weekend - it is the Arcadia Highland trip! I will certainly update with that entry soon.
Saturday some of my flatmates and I (all minus Sarah) went to Glasgow. I wanted to leave a little earlier so that I would have some time to get outside the city and see some of the surrounding sights, but no one else wanted to do that. So we left around 12:30 by train and arrived at the Central station around 1:45. From there we walked along the Clyde river a bit, then went to check out the cathedral, which is one of the only historical sights that actually resides inside, or close enough to, the city to walk to. It was pretty cool, built in the 13-15th century, and is the only medieval cathedral to survive the reformation almost completely. But I would say it was not as grand as the cathedral in Cologne. After that, we just headed back towards the city centre for some shopping. On the way to the first store we did see some drummers and a bagpiper playing on the street, which was pretty neat. The second store we went to? Something you can't find anywhere else - an urban outfitters...Note to self, don't go places with my flatmates if I want to actually see something worthwhile. I guess that Glasgow is known for being a fashion and shopping centre though, so at least I got to see and experience that part of it. One good thing about it being a large city destination - we got sushi for dinner! We had all been craving it, apparently. It was delicious! I need to find a cheap place in Edinburgh somewhere...or maybe see if Tesco has any that tastes decent. (Tesco is sorta like a mini Jewel.)
