In the beginning, there was my blog.
I have never supported the idea of online journals - placing private information on the web where anyone can read it defeats the purpose of a journal. On the flip side, I do want to let you all know what I am up to while I am abroad, and since my cell phone does not have international service, I thought I would give blogging a try. I intend to post updates on what I am doing and where I am going (I'll do the best I can), so feel free to check in here now and then to keep up to date on my adventures. Currently, I am in MI, which is not too exciting, but the fact I am leaving so soon has just started to sink in. I have only one week left here, then I return home for a little over a week, and then I depart from the country. It is daunting, but equally exciting, and while nothing like Lewis and Clark or other great explorers of the past, for me, this is probably the most audacious undertaking of my life up to this point. I have no clue exactly where I will be at this time one month from now, but I do know that wherever it is will become part of an experience that will greatly impact my life. And this is only the beginning.
