Set off for the coast. We have to cross two ferries at Wiseman's Ferry for reasons too complex to go into here. This is the day of the annual Brooklyn-Windsor water ski race. Powerboats towing waterskiers race up the river for 112 km. It disrupts ferry services but is a great spectacle.


We reach Terrigal, a relaxed seaside resort with a good feel. The Tiarri Hotel is relaxed, bright and clean, about 10min walk from the centre.


It is overcast and a bit windy which makes a walk along the beach watching pelicans and admiring the eroded rocks all the better.
