We board the Manly Ferry (the Girlie one being full, ha,ha) for the 7mile journey to Manly just north of the harbour entrance. It is a Sunday, so the beach is busy with surfers, swimming clubs and beach volleyball tournaments. After an early lunch, we head off round the coast. There is a good path south to the harbour entrance with great clifftop views. At the visitor's centre, we identify the bandicoots, skinks and kookaburras that have crossed our path so far. Back through Manly, we pick up a walk that leads for 11km through harbourside communities, scrubland etc. It is quite up and down, so we are tired out by the time we reach the end at a swing bridge called the Spit. We catch buses back to the city centre with help from the locals.

Despite sore muscles and feet, we walk down to Darling Harbour again for supper. Italian food.
