New hotel has terrace overlooking the Mekong so we have an interesting breakfast watching river traffic including a vehicle ferry made from two river boat hulls bolted together with a platform over the middle. People are tending their vegetable plots on the mud banks. We walk roung the old town and bump into the cycling friends we had said farewell to the previous evening.


Janice goes for a massage. She went to a place by the river. After and initial restful pummelling she and the masseuse are attacked by sandflies that came in through the open window. So much for relaxation.


We eat at a very good restaurant, the Blue Lagoon, run by a Swiss owner. Excellent food and service. worth a visit if you are passing!
